Stephen Greene 'Fermata 26' 1977

$4,800.00

Stephen Greene (American, 1918-1999) began his career as a figural painter but by the late 1950s had made the radical transition to nonrepresentational art.. Though refusing to call himself an Abstract Expressionist, his understanding of the genre is clearly apparent in this 1977 work on paper titled 'Fermata 26'. His work is represented in the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Brooklyn Museum, the Houston Museum of Fine Arts, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, and the Tate Gallery in London.
