While Texas artist Charles Pebworth (1926-2019) created in a variety of media he was best known for his relief work in metal. He worked primarily in aluminum, copper and bronze, sometimes adding accents of wood or stone. As a member of the Choctaw Nation he often incorporated subtle references to Native American cosmology in his work. In this small intimate work there is an almost etheric quality that defies the solidity of the materials from which it is created.
