British artist Christopher 'Chris' Plowman (1952–2009) was interested in everyday objects and their relationships to one another. In 'Still Life With Tenon Saw', Plowman has created a Cubist interpretation of what might be a British workman's tea break, his tools of the trade surrounded by his implements of leisure. Christopher Plowman's work is in the permanent collections of the Tate Gallery, the Victoria and Albert Museum and the New York Public Library. In 1987, he was the first winner of the Henry Moore Foundation prize for sculpture.
