Over the course of his long career Danish-American artist Erik Grønborg (b. 1931) has expressed his creativity through a wide range of materials. While his wood sculptures display a primitive rawness, his ceramic pieces are fluid and playful and his cast-metal pieces are both raw AND playful. Grønborg's 'cookie jar', with its high-contrast Pop Art images, nubile finial and industrial interpretation of Michelangelo's 'Creation', is a fine example of his work.
