The designs of Pierre Casenove (France, b.1943) have been heavily influenced by his lifelong work in ceramics. To give these silvered bronze candlesticks the naive, hand-built quality which is a hallmark of his pottery, Casenove builds the original models by hand, just as he does with his pottery. Unlike his pottery, which he fires in a kiln, he casts the original models for the candlesticks in metal and, once extracted from the mold, patinates them to give the metal more visual depth. The largest of these candlesticks measures 18.5" high by 7.25 " by 3.5" while the smallest measures 7.25" high by 7.25" wide by 3.5" deep. Stamped 'Casenove Fondica France'.
